      The board was designed and made almost years ago by celebrated Tasmanian woodcarver Ellen Nora Payne, whose husband and two sons had served in the war. The event will also feature a lecture titled ‘From Academic Gown to Military Uniform: The University of Tasmania and World War I’, presented by Professor Stefan Petrow. The Australian Exhibition of Women's Work was held at the Exhibition Buildings in Melbourne for five weeks in People could see arts and crafts including paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, pottery, needlework, leatherwork, woodwork, spinning and weaving.
